Statement of Faith
1. The Scriptures
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God. The Bible is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice, revealed through verbal, plenary inspiration by the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:21). It is to be interpreted using the literal, grammatical, and historical hermeneutic.
2. The Godhead
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three co-equal and co-eternal Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—each fully divine, distinct in personhood, yet one in essence and nature (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 10:30).
3. The Person and Work of Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the substitutionary atonement for all humanity, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now intercedes as our Advocate and High Priest (John 1:1, 14; Philippians 2:5–8; 1 John 2:1–2).
4. The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; regenerates those who believe; permanently indwells every believer from the moment of faith; and empowers, teaches, and seals believers until the day of redemption (John 16:8–11; Ephesians 1:13–14; 1 Corinthians 12:13).
5. The Nature of Man
We believe that humanity was created in the image of God but fell through sin, resulting in spiritual death and separation from God. All people are born with a sinful nature and are unable to save themselves (Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 3:23; 5:12).
6. Salvation
We believe that eternal salvation is the free gift of God’s grace, received by faith alone in Christ alone apart from works. The sole condition for eternal life is personal trust in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross. Repentance is understood as a change of mind regarding Christ and not as turning from sin. Assurance of salvation rests entirely on the promise of God, not on human performance (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8–9; Titus 3:5; John 5:24).
7. Eternal Security
We believe that every person who has believed in Jesus Christ possesses eternal life that cannot be lost, forfeited, or revoked. Believers are kept secure forever by the power of God, the intercession of Christ, and the sealing of the Holy Spirit (John 10:28–29; Romans 8:38–39; 1 Peter 1:5).
8. Discipleship and Rewards
We believe that discipleship is a voluntary call to follow Christ in obedience and growth, distinct from the free gift of eternal salvation. Faithful service will be rewarded at the Judgment Seat of Christ, while unfaithfulness may result in loss of rewards but never loss of salvation (Luke 9:23; 1 Corinthians 3:11–15; 2 Corinthians 5:10).
9. The Church
We believe that the universal Church is the spiritual Body of Christ, composed of all believers from Pentecost to the Rapture. The local church exists for worship, fellowship, teaching, evangelism, and the building up of believers (Ephesians 1:22–23; Acts 2:42–47).
10. Ordinances
We believe that water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances for believers, symbolizing identification with Christ and remembrance of His death. Neither confers grace or salvation (Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26).
11. The Christian Life
We believe that the believer is called to walk in newness of life by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. Though believers can sin and fall into carnality or apostasy, their position in Christ remains secure. God disciplines His children in love but never revokes their salvation (Galatians 5:16; Hebrews 12:6–11; 2 Timothy 2:13).
12. The Future
We believe in the imminent, pre-tribulational rapture of the Church, the seven-year tribulation, and the literal, premillennial return of Jesus Christ to reign on earth for a thousand years. The unsaved will face final judgment at the Great White Throne and eternal separation from God, while believers will enjoy eternal fellowship with Him (1 Thessalonians 4:13–18; Revelation 20:4–15; John 14:1–3).
13. Final Authority for Faith and Conduct
We believe that the Bible alone, interpreted through sound exegesis and the illumination of the Holy Spirit, governs all matters of faith, conduct, and doctrine within Grace Answers. Tradition, reason, and experience are subordinate to the authority of Scripture (Acts 17:11; 2 Timothy 2:15).
